In the 1980s, a ruthless battle erupted in Sicily that would later go down in history as the Great Mafia War. The mafia families fought each other for supremacy in southern Italy. In La famiglia, you play in teams (2 vs. 2) to take control of Sicily. Six different mafia families, each with special abilities, are at your disposal. Rounds are divided into 2 phases: Planning and Encounter. During Planning, you develop your skills and place fighters and secret orders on the board. In the Encounter phase, you reveal and execute orders, using your fighters and bombs to control as many regions as possible. The combat system is simple yet innovative, turning each encounter into a small psychological duel. The team that coordinates its abilities best will ultimately dominate Sicily.
