Botanicus. DEVIR

In Botanicus, your mission is to create your own botanical garden. Hire a gardener and then search for the most beautiful plants in the world. But don’t plant them just anywhere! Your visitors are very demanding and have clear preferences. Will your garden stand out above the rest? Designed by Vieri Masseini and Samuele Tabellini, and illustrated by Marcel Gröber, Botanicus offers gameplay for couples or groups of up to 4 players, ages 10 and up, with sessions lasting 45–60 minutes. The goal is to earn more victory points than the other players, either by completing tasks, advancing on markers, or cultivating a beautiful botanical garden. On their turn, players move their gardener across their personal garden board, which contains beds arranged in rows and columns. In the 4 spaces within reach, the gardener will plant various seeds or water plants to help them grow. Each turn, players decide which actions to take and try to complete specific tasks that reward points and/or coins. At the end of the game, points are awarded for each column completely filled with plants, so make sure your gardener stays busy! Botanicus received a recommendation at the prestigious Kennerspiel des Jahres 2024. Although categorized as an expert game, its mechanics are very accessible. The rulebook, only 12 pages long, includes examples and fun facts about the plants cultivated during the game. One of the strengths of Botanicus is its carefully crafted production, with clear and intuitive artwork. In addition to the central board and the personal player boards, there are wooden pieces in various colors representing gardeners, shovels, wheelbarrows, money bags, flowers, and animals. The game also includes several decks of cards, tokens, and tiles. To keep everything organized, it comes with 5 foldable cardboard boxes, making setup for the next game easier.
