After a long journey, you arrive at a mysterious island. You build the first houses, create fields and roads through the jungle, and advance deeper into the interior. Every decision matters and will impact the story of your island, so plan your moves carefully! Designed by the legendary and prolific Reiner Knizia (author of over 500 titles, including Lost Cities, Mille Fiori, and the classic Lord of the Rings) and illustrated by Michael Menzel (author of Andor and The Adventures of Robin Hood), it supports 2 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, with games lasting around 30 minutes. My Island is a game that inherits the mechanics of the successful My City, nominated for the Spiel des Jahres 2020. Through a competitive legacy system, players develop their own island using interconnected hexagons. This means the game evolves as you play. Across 24 episodes, players will create a unique island with its own story. Each new game will be different from the previous one, including new rules and materials that permanently modify the island. Each player has their own island, which can be redesigned each game. Three games form a chapter, and each chapter includes a sealed envelope with new rules and materials to change the game board. The goal is to build adjacent pieces together. Unlike My City, tiles form hexagonal sets that must fit on the board. Certain spaces must be covered and others left visible to score maximum points. A player may withdraw when they feel they cannot score more points. When all players withdraw or the deck is depleted, the final scoring takes place. Each episode includes specific objectives that award varying points. If you enjoy puzzles or legacy-style games, this title will fit perfectly in your collection.
