Clank! Catacombs Thieves! You might be interested in knowing where to find great treasure… even if the place is filled with danger. The catacombs of the skeletal dragon Umbrok Vessna hide magical portals, shrines overflowing with riches, prisoners longing to be freed, and ghosts capable of chasing you to your death. Clank! Catacombs is a fully standalone game, though compatible with other titles in the Clank! series. Designed by Paul Dennen, it can be played by 2 to 4 players, ages 13 and up, in games lasting around 70 minutes. It combines deck-building, tile-based exploration, and push-your-luck gameplay to claim treasure and escape the dungeon alive. The game system is based on Clank! A Deck-Building Adventure, making it accessible both to series veterans and new players. Its main difference is that there is no fixed board: the dungeon is built from tiles revealed during play, making each expedition unique. Each player begins with a basic deck that can be improved through the market. Cards allow you to gain boots (movement), swords (combat), skill (special actions), and gold. With them, adventurers move, fight monsters, and activate effects in the various rooms. But moving through the catacombs is not silent… Each time a player makes Clank!, they add cubes to the dragon’s supply. When it awakens, cubes are drawn at random, and the noisiest player is more likely to suffer the dragon’s fury. Throughout the game, special rooms will appear, such as crystal caves, haunted tiles that summon ghosts, shrines where you can recover, or portals that allow teleportation across the dungeon. To win, players must collect treasure, free prisoners, and mandatorily steal at least one artifact before returning to the crypt. These artifacts are found deep within the catacombs, and the dragon will not allow theft to go unpunished. With each game creating a different dungeon and the option to combine cards with other boxes in the series, Clank! Catacombs offers a constantly renewed experience.
