In Diplomacy, each player represents one of the seven great European powers in the years prior to the First World War: the German Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and the Russian Empire. Turns are divided into phases representing the seasons of spring and autumn. The objective is to achieve a solo victory by controlling 18 or more of the 34 supply centers at the end of an autumn turn. Alternatively, the game may end in a draw if all players agree.
