In the quiet English countryside, life goes on undisturbed, just as it has for centuries. However, you will now take on the task of traveling across these green lands with the mission of bringing modernization, meeting the peculiar demands of the locals and contributing to the dawn of the age of steam. This area-building card game challenges players to develop an efficient railway network. The goal is to achieve the highest number of points by completing the 7 railway lines within a 3 x 4 grid. On each turn, you may draw railway cards (up to a total of twelve times during the game). When choosing track cards: You may take the bottom card for free If you choose a card above it, you must place one coin on each preceding card This can make decisions easier later in the game, but it may be challenging at the start, as you begin with only five coins. After obtaining a card, you must place it on your board, either on the edge of your grid or orthogonally adjacent to another placed card. If the card had coins on it, you immediately add them to your reserve. Additionally, you may choose to draw a journey card (key for scoring): You must pay 3 coins You may take the bottom card for free or pay additional coins to access higher cards Journey cards are placed at the start of one of your incomplete lines Each line may contain up to two journey cards, allowing for a theoretical maximum of 14 cards, although achieving this will be difficult due to money management.
