Step into the picturesque streets of Paris where, in the name of art, you will embark on romantic escapades, seek inspiration, and try not to succumb to the hardships of bohemian life. Take on the role of a dreaming artist, with great ambitions and few resources, determined to change the world through your work. Will you achieve fame or fall into obscurity? Designed by Jasper de Lange, Bohemians is a deck-building game that can be played solo or with up to 4 players, ages 14 and up, in sessions lasting around 50 minutes. The goal is to accumulate the highest number of achievements to become the most renowned artist in Paris. How to play At the start, each player receives a hand of 10 cards that defines their artistic style: musician, poet, sculptor, or painter. In each round, you will play habit and muse cards to generate inspiration, the game’s key resource. Inspiration allows you to acquire new cards from the central market and obtain achievement cards, which are essential for winning the game. Key decisions Manage adversity: adversity cards represent everyday problems that hinder your progress. Work or create: you can take conventional jobs to gain workshop points, which provide useful effects but do not generate inspiration directly. Optimize your deck: improve your cards to create synergies and maximize your opportunities. End of the game The game ends when a player obtains their fifth achievement card (or the fourth in 4-player games). The player with the most achievements wins. Bohemians also includes a solo mode and a cooperative variant for two players, offering multiple ways to enjoy the game.
