A new standalone game from the King of Tokyo series is here! Designed for new players, this smaller and more affordable edition is fully compatible with the rest of the titles in the series, and includes 4 new monsters and unique power cards. Created by the legendary Richard Garfield (creator of Magic: The Gathering), King of Tokyo: Origins is designed for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, with games lasting around 30 minutes. In this game, players take on the role of giant monsters fighting to destroy everything in their path and become the King of Tokyo. The winner is the first to reach 20 victory points or eliminate all opponents. On each turn, players roll six dice up to three times, keeping the most useful results. These allow you to gain victory points, generate energy, heal, or attack other monsters. Energy is stored in cubes and used to purchase power cards, which provide permanent or temporary effects. Only one monster can be in Tokyo, granting additional victory points, but preventing healing. If you attack from outside, you hit the monster in Tokyo; if you are inside, you attack all other players. When a monster loses all its health, it is eliminated. Get ready to conquer the city with your favorite monster! Choose your strategy: attack, heal, or evolve, and fight your way to victory through chaos and destruction.
