Description
Rome, 1 BC. As influential patricians, you set out to improve the districts of your city. Cultivate fertile gardens of herbs and vegetables, build ponds full of fish, and erect luxurious estates and other dwellings for your servants. You must make the most of the daylight and the city’s resources to rebuild it. Meanwhile, never forget the philosophy of carpe diem: seize the moment by harvesting grapes and fishing, then sell these goods at the market. Build proper housing for your servants and they will reward you by being more diligent and productive. And don’t forget your own villa! It will earn you great prestige. Turn after turn, you will try to acquire various building tiles to add more and more buildings and landscapes to your district. After four scoring phases, your achievements are converted into victory points. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins. Carpe Diem is an exciting tile-placement game set in ancient Rome, designed by Stefan Feld, the creator of hits such as The Castles of Burgundy, Trajan and In the Year of the Dragon.
