Agricola: Woods and Marshes is the revised edition of this popular expansion for the revised edition of Agricola. Was there no other place to settle? Players start the game with several forest and marsh tiles that hinder the development of their farm boards. Fortunately, they also have new special actions that allow them to clear these plots: they can remove forests by chopping trees for wood or by using slash-and-burn techniques to directly transform them into fields. They can also extract peat from the marshes to obtain fuel, the new resource in the game: now, in addition to feeding their family during harvests, they must also heat the house. A renovated house has a lower heating cost, so it’s wise to hurry with the construction. Watch out! If the house is not properly heated, the farmers will fall ill and have to stay in bed until they visit the infirmary. Additionally, this expansion introduces a new type of animal: the horse. Breeding horses can be decisive, as each horse gives 1 point at the end of the game.
