Many years ago, a young adventurer freed a powerful magical djinn trapped in the heart of the swamps. Together, they built the magical city of Cardia. Today, life flourishes in the city. However, four factions vie for power: the Swamp Rebellion, the scholars of the Academy, the Guild, and the Dynasty. Whoever obtains the powerful seal rings will earn the favor of the factions and become the new ruler of Cardia. Play your cards wisely and defeat your opponent! Designed by Mathieu Rivero and Faouzi Boughida, Duel for Cardia is a vibrant and strategic card game for two players (or four, using a variant), ages 9 and up, with fast-paced sessions of about 15 minutes. The first player to obtain 5 seals wins the duel. Each player has an identical deck of 16 character cards. Turn after turn, they will play one of their five cards in hand, facing off in a duel. First, the initiative value of the cards (a number from 1 to 16) is compared; the winner gains a seal, while the loser activates their card’s ability. These abilities can have surprising and unexpected effects, meaning that sometimes it may even be worthwhile to lose a battle in order to trigger them. For example, some cards may alter the results of previous duels or grant advantages for the rest of the game. Duel for Cardia includes an extra deck of 32 character cards and 8 location cards that increase the challenge of duels and ensure high replayability for future matches.
