Our home on Earth is now a distant memory, and the struggles of establishing the first colonies are beginning to fade. We arrived on this new planet, rich in resources, with the idea of creating a better world — a second chance for humanity to build something greater. But our greedy nature outweighs our good intentions. For those in power, the most important things are wealth and influence. So, to win in Planet B, amass the biggest fortune possible without too many scruples! Designed by Johannes Natterer, it can be played by 2 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, in games of around 90 minutes. In Planet B, players take on the roles of corrupt leaders managing the wealth of a new world, humanity’s new home. With the goal of amassing as much wealth as possible, players will make unethical deals with corporations, bribe the press, construct buildings where they can place workers, and compete in a fierce electoral race to become President. As any seasoned politician knows, you must gain the favor of powerful conglomerates if you want to advance your career. For this reason, the first action on your turn will be making a deal with a business group, and depending on the company chosen, you will be able to carry out certain actions. These corporate-sponsored actions include producing resources (plastic, iridium, water, plants, hydrogen, chips, or meat); constructing buildings using cards from your hand (which later allow additional actions); placing a worker (human or robot) on one of your cards to perform an action; and advancing on one of the three faction tracks (Capitalists, Futurists, and Traditionalists), each granting exclusive benefits. In addition to actions, players will trigger certain events, such as news reports, which may cause the public to view you as an immoral leader. This will have consequences when elections are triggered for choosing a new President and other elected offices. Each office provides certain benefits, but the presidential ones are the best. Your decisions will affect the other players! No matter how greedy you are, your actions throughout the game will influence the people's mood, and this may have negative effects. Balance is key! At the end of the game, however, there will be no room for scruples: you’ll sell all your resources and earn money, which will be converted into victory points. Whoever has the most becomes the winner! Planet B is a worker-placement and resource-management game that will delight fans of combos and action planning. With a setting full of ironic humor, this title offers a balance in difficulty that makes it accessible both to experienced gamers seeking a solid challenge and to more casual players looking to move toward deeper strategic games.
