Savernake Forest Autumn is coming to an end in the Savernake forest… Help the animals gather and store food for the winter! Savernake Forest is a game for 2 to 4 players in which each participant builds their own section of the forest using paths along which animals and food will appear. To score the most points, you must ensure that on each path the animals can collect their favorite food. Designed by Rodrigo Rego and illustrated by Núria Aparicio, it offers games lasting around 30 minutes and is recommended for players aged 10 and up. Foxes, hedgehogs, beavers, owls, rabbits, woodpeckers, wildcats… Up to 23 different types of animals live together in Savernake. At the end of autumn, they all prepare to survive the winter, and your mission is to help them gather enough supplies. The game uses two decks of square cards: one with animals and another with paths full of food. Each player receives an animal card that indicates its storage capacity and its food preferences. For example, the fox loves eggs, but not berries or nuts. To maximize your score, you must place the paths so that each animal collects what it likes most. During setup, three path cards and one animal card are placed face up. On their turn, each player chooses a card and adds it to their forest, following three rules: there cannot be two animals on the same path, cards must be adjacent, and you cannot go beyond a 4x4 grid. The game ends when each player has completed their forest with 16 cards. Throughout the game, some animals provide special abilities. The rooster lets you choose first in the next turn; the armadillo helps create better shelters, increasing storage capacity; the goat improves the value of food using water tokens; and the rabbit makes it easier to attract new animals to the forest. For those looking for a greater challenge, the rulebook includes an advanced variant for two players that increases the difficulty and requires even more careful planning.
