HUTAN: Life in the Rainforest. DEVIR

Hutan is the Indonesian word for “forest”, and hutan hujan means “rainforest”. In this game, you will travel to Indonesia, where you will plant flowers, grow trees, and gather animals, competing to create the most impressive and lush jungle plot. Designed by Asger Harding Granerud and Daniel Skjold Pedersen and illustrated by Vincent Dutrait, Hutan can be enjoyed solo or in groups of up to 4 players, from 8 years old, in games lasting between 30 and 45 minutes. Each turn, players choose flowers from a shared market and plant them in their personal jungle. This placement puzzle evolves based on previous decisions, and the modular board ensures a different challenge every game. The game is played over 9 rounds, with each player taking 2 turns per round. Each turn consists of three phases: planting flowers, growing trees, and gathering animals. Depending on how the vegetation is arranged, habitats are created that attract specific animals, granting valuable victory points. In addition to the standard mode, the game includes three variants: a solo mode, a family mode, and an advanced version. The family variant offers a more flexible experience by removing two game rules, while the advanced version adds 24 ecosystem cards with new challenges. In each game, only 5 cards are used, proposing alternative scoring methods. Will you be able to create the most appealing jungle to claim victory?
