Description
Fleet Commander: NIMITZ is a solo game that covers the Pacific War from early 1942 until its end in 1945, allowing you to play standalone campaigns for each year or the entire war as a linked series. Your success will depend on balancing a strategic and tactical approach. You must move your forces across the map to achieve key objectives, while also outmaneuvering the automated opponent: the game system itself. At the end of each campaign, victory is determined by the objectives controlled: Hawaii, Midway, the Solomon Islands, among others. The box includes 4 campaigns (1942–1945), which can be played independently or as a connected series covering the entire conflict. Each year features its own set of counters, accurately representing historical ships, air groups, and ground units. How to Play Fleet Commander: NIMITZ Turns follow a structured sequence of steps. The Japanese player is controlled by the game system itself, designed to provide a strategic challenge without slowing down gameplay. Each turn: You receive supply points to acquire units, improve reconnaissance, prepare battle plans, or repair damage. You use reconnaissance to reveal Japanese orders and anticipate their movements. Your forces move first, followed by the Japanese forces. If they occupy the same space, a battle occurs. After combat, Japan receives reinforcements and repairs. U.S. ships return to friendly ports. Supply for U.S. troops and airfields is checked.
