Carcassonne: Sieges and Fortresses is an expansion for Carcassonne in which the region is under attack. You must place your followers in different defensive positions and earn points for doing so. But be careful — if you don’t contribute enough to the defense, you might lose some areas. War comes to Carcassonne! The Sieges and Fortresses box includes 18 new land tiles with siege symbols that trigger attacks on the citadel. It also adds two double fortress tiles, where players must assign their workers to defensive posts. In addition, you’ll find three catapult pawns that can attack cities, roads, and monasteries, as well as 12 regular follower pawns (two per player) to expand your available worker pool. Compatible with any Carcassonne module, this expansion introduces a new level of tension to the game. Beyond pursuing the highest score according to the base game’s rules, players must also defend the citadel if they don’t want to lose tiles that could earn them points later on.
