Battalion: War of the Ancients.

Battalion is a straightforward strategy game where victory depends on your army setup and battle management.

The battlefield is divided into 3 or 5 zones depending on the number of players. The center is the most important, as controlling it grants automatic victory. If no one holds the center, the player whose deck runs out first loses. Cards are drawn when a formation is disbanded or regrouped, ensuring the game progresses toward its conclusion.

Battles are played with 6 to 12 formations per side, with an equal number of cards and tokens for each player.

Manage Your Orders

Throughout the game, it's crucial to manage your orders and decide whether to take damage or disorder in your formations. Taking too much disorder speeds up drawing from your deck to regroup but requires careful planning of which units to sacrifice.

Not having enough order tokens to assign as damage can result in taking more damage than your opponent rolled, while excessive disorder triggers unit regrouping, depleting your deck faster.

Each Card Can Be Used in 3 Ways

• Add an extra combat die to your attack.
• Move a formation to an adjacent area.
• Deploy a formation from your reserve.

This requires balancing every decision throughout the game.

Factions

Create your own army using one of the 4 available factions in the game:

• Roman Republic: Dominate the battlefield with formidable legions and allies.
• Carthage: Combine mercenaries, elephants, and the Sacred Battalion.
• Greco-Bactrian Kingdom: Renowned cavalry will fight for every oasis.
• Han Empire: Chariots and crossbowmen traverse the desert to wage war.
