When night falls, lights dance among the ancient trees. In the heart of the forest, the spirits gather around a mysterious pond, wrapped in legends and secrets. While the orbs trace orderly glowing paths, the mischievous pumpkins flutter about enjoying the chaos. The witches watch from the darkness, drawn by the cats exploring the area, and the hearts fill the woods with harmony, seeking to create a refuge. Welcome to the spirit forest! Designed by Reed Ambrose, The Spirit Forest can be enjoyed solo or with up to 4 players, from 10 years old, in sessions lasting 30 to 45 minutes. Players will compete over three rounds to create the most harmonious forest. In the end, whoever scores the most points, both from the objective cards and from completing their grid, wins the game. On each turn, players choose one of the visible spirits in the central pond and must place it next to some tree tiles in their play area following one of the two patterns adjacent to the card. If players have their cat available, they may swap the visible spirits for others or choose any other shape present in the pond. In the first round, they will form a 4x4 forest; in the second, a 5x5; and in the last, a 6x6 grid. However, the spirits remain in the forest, so each round it becomes harder to make space for new spirits and achieve the highest possible score across the different objectives.
