Clank! In Space Clank! In Space is a game designed by Paul Dennen for 2 to 4 players, aged 12 and up, with playtimes of 45 to 90 minutes. It combines deck-building with movement across a modular board. It is part of the successful Clank! series, but with a science fiction setting and new mechanics. Players take on the role of a group of raiders who infiltrate the spaceship of the fearsome Lord Eradikus, the most powerful cyborg in the galaxy. The goal is to collect the greatest number of artifacts and escape alive in an escape pod. But the ship is full of dangers, mercenaries, and a cybernetic overlord who tolerates no intruders. If you are already familiar with deck-building games like Dominion or previous titles in the Clank! series, learning to play will be very easy. Throughout the game, you will improve your deck with cards that allow you to move, attack, acquire new cards, or trigger special effects. The board is made up of modules: three are fixed in every game and three others can be placed in different ways, making each game unique. Each player starts with a 10-card starting deck and 30 Clank cubes, which represent the noise you make as you move through the ship. In this version, factions come into play, granting bonuses when you combine cards of the same type. In addition, you can use teleporters and elevators, making movement easier. However, to access the artifacts you must first hack a data port, which increases Lord Eradikus’s fury. During the game, you must keep an eye on both your own actions and those of the other players. Each noise cube added to the boss’s bag increases the danger, as depending on Eradikus’s level of rage, cubes will be drawn at random, triggering negative effects. Taking greater risks can bring great rewards… or lead to your elimination. An essential game for fans of science fiction and deck-building, packed with genre references and tense decisions. Build your deck, refine your strategy, and steal the artifacts without making too much noise. May stealth be with you!
